  • Cabin bathroom had only a single soap/hair wash dispenser similar to that found in a 2 star hotel... I have never seen it in any hotel I have stayed in and therefore the lack of toiletries was unexpected for this class of ship. When i asked at Guest Services they couldn't understand the question and I am still awaiting any reply from them. The cabin size was good but there was no ice bucket, slippers, robes etc -no extras at all which was disappointing.
    Cabin staff were good and very friendly.. which is why the 4 and not a 5.

  • the food... In the restaurant, we tried the striploin steaks twice. On both occasions we have had thicker bacon rashers for breakfast. I can understand the Windjammer having prepared thin steaks but even a bit thicker would have been expected in the cooked-to-order restaurant steaks.. the final straw for the restaurant was the short ribs.. which came as a white mush in a bowl...definitely bearing no resemblance to what one would expect. I had even asked the waiter about what I was ordering so was surprised by what I got. I tried it and it was awful.
    Windjammer food was better than the restaurant but can only say that the 'American' and the 'Mexican' night were nights where I found nice to eat food.

  • I cruised with Royal previously and I am very disappointed in the level of service provided this time. I would be very reluctant to recommend them based on this experience.
    Itinerary was great, however the ship lacked a lot of standard features I would expect from Royal Caribbean.
    It appeared to be a staff training ship as the guests know more than the crew. I'm still waiting to hear if i could avail of MyTime Dining after giving my name and cabin details on Day 1 both at Guest Services and the Restaurant.
    I had to ask repeatedly and basically tell Guest services how to get Port information leaflets...... most were unaware they existed.
    Don't get me started on the food....
    In terms of the tour operator guide (seascanner) onboard, I did not think we had one. If it was RC excursion guides, they were ok but did not have basic information on anything but the excursions (eg taxi to town in ports etc) I also signed up for a shopping trip in Cartagena and was never told it was cancelled...this was disrespectful as we waiting over 30minutes with no-one knowing anything!
    Overall there is a significant lack of cohesion and knowledge among the staff and there was no follow up on anything from Guest Services - if you left the desk, you would hear nothing.
